You signed up for an AI receptionist to stop missing calls. It works. Now the invoice has an overage line on it, or you've noticed that half your customers message you on WhatsApp rather than ringing, or you simply want to see what else is out there before you renew. That's usually when people start searching for a Dialzara alternative.

This page compares Dialzara and Klugon honestly. Both are AI phone answering services for small businesses. Both answer around the clock, book appointments and pass work to your team. They differ in how they charge for minutes, in what happens when a caller needs a person, in texting, and in which other channels come with the product. Dialzara does some things Klugon doesn't, and we say so plainly below.

Every Dialzara fact here comes from Dialzara's own website, checked in October 2026. Where Dialzara doesn't publish something, we say "not published" rather than guess. Prices change, so check Dialzara's pricing page before you decide.

The short verdict on a Dialzara alternative

Pick Dialzara if you get a modest number of calls and want the lowest entry price, if you need calls put through to a person on your team, if you want an AI that texts customers, or if you want to port your number in. Dialzara's entry plan is $29 a month, it offers call routing and transfer, it sells an AI SMS agent, and it publishes a number porting page.

Pick Klugon if you take a lot of calls and want a large block of minutes for a flat fee, or if your customers reach you on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and your website as well as the phone and you want one assistant and one inbox across all of them. Klugon's voice Starter plan includes 1,000 minutes a month for $99.

Don't pick Klugon if live call transfer, SMS or HIPAA compliance is a requirement. Klugon has none of those today.

What each product is

Dialzara in brief

Dialzara describes itself as an AI phone receptionist for small businesses. On its homepage it says it answers calls 24/7, books appointments and qualifies leads, and that "most businesses are live in about 15 minutes". Alongside the inbound voice plans it sells an AI SMS agent, an AI website chatbot, outbound calling plans and a white-label partner programme. Its features page names Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook as native calendar integrations, Zapier, Make and webhooks for automation, and Slack and Microsoft Teams for team alerts.

Klugon in brief

Klugon is an AI receptionist for small businesses, sold as three separate products: an AI voice agent for phone calls, an AI social agent for WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Telegram, and an AI chatbot for your website. You can subscribe to one, two or all three. Each assistant learns from the services, prices, documents and FAQs you give it, books into Klugon's built-in calendar, captures leads and flags conversations your team should pick up. Every call and message lands in one inbox. The company behind it is based in Dresden, Germany. There's more on the product itself on the AI phone receptionist page.

Pricing and minutes

This is where the two products differ most, and where your own call volume decides which is cheaper.

Dialzara's pricing, as of October 2026

According to Dialzara's pricing page, all plans are billed monthly with no setup fees:

  • Business Lite: $29 a month, 60 minutes, then $0.48 a minute.
  • Business Pro: $99 a month, 220 minutes, then $0.45 a minute.
  • Business Plus: $199 a month, 500 minutes, then $0.40 a minute.
  • Business Elite: $349 a month, 1,000 minutes, then $0.35 a minute.

Higher plans add priority support, and Elite adds dedicated onboarding and priority SLAs. Annual pricing is not published on that page.

The add-ons are priced separately. The AI SMS agent is listed at $19 a month plus $0.05 per AI message, plus carrier fees per segment, with the note "Bundle: free with any inbound voice plan". The website chatbot is $39 a month on its own; bundled with a voice plan, the first 100 sessions a month are free and then each session is $0.15. Outbound calling plans start at $750 a month.

Klugon's pricing

Klugon's pricing page lists three voice tiers:

  • Starter: $99 a month, or $79 a month billed yearly. 1,000 voice minutes, one phone number.
  • Business: $299 a month, or $239 billed yearly. 3,600 voice minutes, up to three numbers.
  • Scale: $499 a month, or $399 billed yearly. 6,000 voice minutes, unlimited numbers.

Each phone number is $9 a month on top. Extra voice minutes are $15 for each started block of 100. Every plan allows unlimited AI assistants.

Messaging is priced as separate products. The social agent (WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger) starts at $79 a month for 300 conversations, and a connected WhatsApp number is $19 a month. The website chatbot starts at $49 a month for 100 conversations. You only pay for the products you use. The plan cards show the full allowances.

Three worked examples

These use list prices, monthly billing and one phone number. They assume every minute is billed as a full minute and ignore taxes and carrier fees. Your own call lengths will differ, so run your own numbers.

A quiet practice: 100 minutes a month. Say you get 40 calls a month averaging two and a half minutes.

  • Dialzara Business Lite: $29 plus 40 extra minutes at $0.48 = $48.20.
  • Klugon voice Starter: $99 plus a $9 number = $108.

Dialzara is clearly cheaper here. At low volume, Klugon's large minute allowance is money you don't use.

A busy trade business: 600 minutes a month. Say 200 calls averaging three minutes.

  • Dialzara Business Plus: $199 plus 100 extra minutes at $0.40 = $239. (Business Pro would be $99 plus 380 × $0.45 = $270.)
  • Klugon voice Starter: $99 plus $9 = $108, with 400 minutes still unused.

A high-volume office: 1,500 minutes a month. Say 500 calls averaging three minutes.

  • Dialzara Business Elite: $349 plus 500 extra minutes at $0.35 = $524.
  • Klugon voice Starter: $99 plus $9, plus five started blocks of 100 extra minutes at $15 = $183. Klugon voice Business at $299 plus $9 = $308 would include 3,600 minutes and calendar integrations.

The crossover sits somewhere around 200 to 250 minutes a month. Below it, Dialzara's smaller plans cost less. Above it, Klugon's flat allowance usually costs less. Our guide to what an AI receptionist costs goes through the same sums for other kinds of business.

What the price doesn't include

On Dialzara, a local or toll-free number is included in the plan, according to its homepage. On Klugon, numbers are $9 a month each, and you can't buy one until your trial ends. If you also want messaging, compare like with like: Dialzara bundles its SMS agent and some website chat sessions with a voice plan, while Klugon charges for its social and chat products separately.

Call handling and handover to staff

What happens when a caller needs a human is the most important practical difference between these two products.

Dialzara: routing and transfer

Dialzara's homepage says complex calls can be routed to you or your team, that you can set transfer numbers and conditions, and that multiple transfer extensions are supported for different call types. On its own Dialzara vs My AI Front Desk comparison, Dialzara says it offers blind transfers on all plans and warm transfers on the Pro plan. Its pricing page lists voicemail transcription on every plan, and the homepage says detailed call summaries are sent by email.

If your work depends on a caller reaching a person during the same call (an emergency plumbing job, an urgent legal matter, a VIP client), that's a real advantage.

Klugon: a flag, not a transfer

Klugon does not transfer calls. When the AI decides a caller needs a person, it flags the conversation for your team. In practice:

  1. The conversation is marked as escalated and shows a "Needs a person" banner in your inbox.
  2. A notification goes to Slack or to Zapier, if you've connected them (Business tier and above). From Zapier you can route it on to wherever your team works.
  3. The AI carries on with the caller: it takes their details, tells them someone will be in touch and ends the call politely.
  4. Someone on your team calls the customer back from their own phone.

Klugon doesn't send email alerts to the owner, doesn't record calls and doesn't send call summaries by email. Every call appears in your inbox, but on calls the record may contain only the AI's side, so it isn't a full two-sided transcript. If you need recordings, emailed summaries or a transfer, Dialzara offers more here.

What the AI does on a call

Klugon's voice agent can list your services, check free slots, make a booking, cancel a booking, search your products, take a caller's details as a lead and answer from your knowledge base. It can't reschedule on a call (it can in chat and on WhatsApp). It answers in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese and Arabic, and callers can interrupt it mid-sentence. The AI voice agent page has the detail.

Dialzara's pricing page lists English and Spanish on its plans. Its website chatbot is described as supporting 10 or more languages with auto-detect.

Booking and calendars

Booking on Dialzara

Dialzara says it books appointments directly into your calendar. Its features page names Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook as native integrations, and its SMS agent is described as calendar-aware. Whether a calendar is required, and how availability rules are set, is not published in detail.

Booking on Klugon

Klugon has its own booking calendar built in. You set:

  • your opening hours and timezone;
  • the services you offer and how long each takes;
  • which staff can do which service;
  • a slot interval, a buffer after each booking, minimum notice and how far ahead people can book;
  • closed dates.

The AI offers only times that fit, checks for conflicts per staff member and confirms the booking in the same conversation with a reference. Bookings appear in your dashboard, where you can edit or cancel them.

On the Business tier and above, Klugon can also check Google, Outlook or Apple calendars for busy times and send Calendly booking links, after you set them up. This isn't automatic two-way sync, so if your diary lives in Google Calendar you'll need to test how you want the two to work together. Google Calendar is connected by sharing the calendar with a service account; the Google Calendar help centre explains calendar sharing.

Klugon doesn't send booking confirmations by email or text, and doesn't send reminders. The confirmation is the reply in the conversation. The AI appointment scheduler page covers booking in more depth.

Channels beyond the phone

Dialzara's channels

Dialzara is phone-first. It adds an AI SMS agent (two-way texting, booking by text and a hand-off from voice to SMS, with 10DLC registration handled for you) and an AI website chatbot with a knowledge base shared across voice and SMS. WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger are not listed on its pricing page.

Klugon's channels

Klugon covers the phone, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger and a website chat widget, all from the same assistant and knowledge. Some practical points:

  • WhatsApp needs a Meta WhatsApp Business setup: a Meta app, a phone number ID and an access token. Klugon doesn't supply WhatsApp numbers. See WhatsApp AI chatbot.
  • Instagram needs a professional account linked to a Facebook Page, and Meta app review before members of the public can message the assistant.
  • The website widget is one script tag pasted before the closing body tag. It works on any HTML site. That chat is text; visitors can talk to the assistant by voice on your Klugon public page, which you can link to or embed with an iframe.
  • Your inbox shows phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and widget conversations in one list. You can reply yourself on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger within Meta's 24-hour window.

Klugon has no SMS of any kind: no texting, no text confirmations and no missed-call text-back. If texting is how your customers talk to you, Dialzara is the better fit for that part.

Klugon's CRM connections aren't automatic syncs of every lead. The AI sends a lead across when it uses the sync tool. Leads are always stored in Klugon's own leads list, which you can export as CSV.

Setup and getting live

Setting up Dialzara

Dialzara markets setup as about 15 minutes, and its comparison page says setup can start from your website URL. Its pricing page says a 1:1 onboarding call with a prompt engineer ("White Glove Setup") is included with every paid plan. You can forward your existing number to Dialzara, use a new local or toll-free number, or port your number using its porting page.

Setting up Klugon

Klugon is self-serve:

  1. Sign up with email or Google, and enter your business details.
  2. Start the voice trial (card required).
  3. Create an assistant. Add services, prices, opening hours and staff. Upload PDFs, Word files or CSVs, paste FAQs, or scan your website (homepage plus up to seven key pages).
  4. Pick one of ten voices and write your greeting.
  5. Test the assistant in your browser.
  6. When the trial ends and the plan is live, buy a number, or buy one and forward your existing number to it.

The checklist on the dashboard walks you through each step. Klugon doesn't port numbers. Keeping your number means forwarding it, which our article on keeping your number with call forwarding explains, or connecting your own SIP trunk on the Business tier.

We don't give a minute count for setup. Writing good instructions and testing them on yourself is what takes the time, on any product.

Trial, contract and cancelling

Dialzara: a 7-day free trial, monthly billing and no setup fees, per its pricing page. Whether a card is needed for the trial, and its cancellation terms, are not published there.

Klugon: a 7-day free trial per product. A card is required, and you're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. During the trial you can't buy a phone number, so you test voice in the browser. Plans are monthly, or yearly at 20% less.

That last point matters if you're switching. On Klugon, real calls can only start after the trial converts to a paid plan. Plan your switch with that in mind (see the steps below).

Privacy and compliance

On its comparison pages, Dialzara says it is HIPAA compliant on all plans. If you handle patient information in the US, that is a significant difference. Ask Dialzara directly about a Business Associate Agreement, and read the HHS guidance on HIPAA to see what applies to you.

Klugon is not HIPAA compliant and holds no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or PCI certification. It is operated by a German company under the GDPR, and transfers to its US sub-processors are covered by standard contractual clauses, as listed in its privacy policy. You can export leads, customers, orders and conversations as CSV and request full deletion by email.

Where Dialzara is the better choice

Be honest with yourself about these. If any is a must-have, Dialzara is the better pick.

  • You need calls transferred to a person. Dialzara supports transfer numbers and conditions; Klugon can only flag the call and have someone call back.
  • You want an AI that texts. Dialzara's SMS agent books and qualifies by text. Klugon has no SMS.
  • You get few calls. At under about 200 minutes a month, Dialzara's $29 and $99 plans cost less than Klugon's $99 plan plus a number.
  • You need HIPAA. Dialzara says it is HIPAA compliant. Klugon isn't.
  • You want email call summaries or voicemail transcription. Dialzara lists both. Klugon has neither.
  • You want to port your number. Dialzara has a porting process. Klugon only supports forwarding or SIP.
  • You want outbound calling. Dialzara sells outbound plans. Klugon makes no outbound calls.
  • You want someone to set it up with you. Dialzara includes a 1:1 onboarding call on paid plans.
  • You want a phone number on day one of the trial. Klugon's numbers only activate after the trial.

Where Klugon is the better choice

  • You take a lot of calls. 1,000 minutes for $99 a month (or $79 billed yearly) is a large allowance. At 600 or 1,500 minutes a month, the worked examples above come out well in Klugon's favour.
  • Your customers message as much as they call. One assistant answers the phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and your website, from the same knowledge, into one inbox.
  • You want booking without connecting a calendar first. The built-in calendar handles opening hours, service lengths, staff and buffers from day one.
  • You serve customers in several languages. Klugon answers calls in nine languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese and Arabic.
  • You want to see what's happening. The analytics page shows calls, minutes, bookings and leads by day, hour and channel, and the insights page lists the questions the AI couldn't answer well, so you know what to teach it next.
  • You're in Europe. Klugon is run by a German company under the GDPR.
  • You want several assistants. Every plan allows unlimited assistants, for example one for each brand or service line.

If you're weighing up several tools, our comparisons of My AI Front Desk and Rosie cover similar products, and the Goodcall comparison covers another flat-priced option.

How to switch from Dialzara to Klugon

Run both side by side until you're sure. Don't cancel Dialzara until real calls on Klugon have gone well.

  1. Export what you've built. Copy your Dialzara prompts, FAQs, business information and any knowledge files. Note your transfer rules, because you'll replace them with handover instructions.
  2. Start the Klugon voice trial. Add your card and set up your business details.
  3. Rebuild your knowledge. Upload the same documents, paste your FAQs and add your services with their durations, prices and staff.
  4. Replace transfers with handover rules. For each situation where Dialzara transferred a call, write an instruction: "If the caller has an emergency, take their name, number and address, say a person will call back, and flag the conversation." Connect Slack or Zapier so someone sees the flag quickly, and decide who calls back.
  5. Set your booking rules. Opening hours, buffer, minimum notice, how far ahead and closed dates.
  6. Test in the browser. Run through your ten most common calls and your three awkward ones. Check the inbox after each.
  7. Go live when the plan is active. After the trial converts, buy a Klugon number. Point your business number's call forwarding at it instead of at Dialzara. Ring it from a mobile to check.
  8. Watch the first two weeks. Read the inbox daily and fix gaps using the insights page. Then cancel Dialzara.

If you use Dialzara's SMS agent, decide what replaces it before you switch. Klugon won't text your customers. WhatsApp may cover some of that, if your customers use it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Klugon cheaper than Dialzara?

It depends on volume. For around 100 minutes a month, Dialzara's Lite plan is cheaper. For several hundred minutes or more, Klugon's Starter plan, with 1,000 minutes for $99 a month plus $9 for a number, usually costs less. The worked examples above show the sums.

Can Klugon transfer a call to my team like Dialzara does?

No. Klugon flags the conversation, marks it "Needs a person" in your inbox and posts to Slack or Zapier. Someone on your team then calls the customer back. If live transfer matters, Dialzara is the better choice.

Does Klugon send text messages?

No. Klugon has no SMS: no texting, no text confirmations and no reminders. Dialzara sells an AI SMS agent.

Can I keep my phone number if I move to Klugon?

Yes, by forwarding it. You buy a Klugon number for $9 a month after your trial and set your existing number to forward to it. Klugon doesn't port numbers.

Is there a free trial, and do I need a card?

Klugon has a 7-day free trial per product and a card is required. You're charged when the trial ends unless you cancel. During the trial you test voice in the browser, because phone numbers activate when the trial ends. Dialzara also offers a 7-day free trial; whether it needs a card is not published on its pricing page.

Which languages does each answer calls in?

Klugon answers calls in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese and Arabic. Dialzara's pricing page lists English and Spanish for its voice plans.

Is Klugon HIPAA compliant?

No. Klugon is not HIPAA compliant and holds no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. Dialzara says on its own comparison pages that it is HIPAA compliant on all plans.

Does Klugon book into Google Calendar?

Klugon books into its own built-in calendar. On the Business tier and above, it can also check Google, Outlook or Apple calendars for busy times and send Calendly links, after setup. It isn't automatic two-way sync.

For a straight answer on which to choose: go with call volume and channels. If you need transfers, texting or HIPAA, Dialzara fits. If you want a large block of minutes and one AI receptionist for small business across the phone and your messaging apps, try Klugon.
